Dark Knight (Shining Mahogany)

The sorrows of being lovelorn,
Would soon be that of a distant memory
Her heart, idle no more
For she was nearing the end of her soul pining
She would read aloud love letters received,
Passionate scibes of hope
Reciting the words of his sonnets,
In anticipation of his imminent release

No longer could she wait
to once again acquaint herself,
with the gentle and playful smile of his greeting eyes
Unjustly criminalised
Prepared for death defending his queen
Her sworn protector
Born defender
Her dark knight

Time could not extinguish this love ardent
Melting from reminiscences of all his chivalry
She longed to again feel the strength of his armour,
Pressed against her silken skin
Forever rich and mahogany
